The Scar Medal
A scarred neck, a broken voice—reimagined not as a flaw, but as a badge of honor.
For a long time after the surgery, I couldn’t accept having such a large, unsightly scar on my neck. The surgery also ruined my voice. At the time, I couldn’t come to terms with it. But as time went on, I began to see things differently: this unique experience can also be viewed as a badge of honor—a medal I award myself for my courage.
Materials: Copper, brass, enamel, stainless steel
